How Do You Measure SEO Success?

It seems that everywhere you look there is another question about how to measure SEO success. The problem is, we all want to know how we can improve our website rankings in the search engines. And it’s not as easy as it seems when you compare a website today to one that was created years ago. But there are a few things you should keep in mind. If a website owner is not getting organic traffic, chances are they aren’t spending enough time and money on their internet marketing. In this article I will discuss how you can evaluate your website’s SEO success.

How do you measure SEO success

One of the first things you should look at is the amount and quality of the organic traffic you receive. If a webmaster is struggling to get any organic traffic, they are probably suffering from other problems. For example, their link building campaign may be having an impact on their ranking. If the campaigns are not working, and a large portion of their site is missing from the organic results, this is a great indicator that they need to revamp their website and their link building strategy.

Another important thing to look at is the page rank. This is a very tricky subject for many people. There is so much debate about what is the ideal number of backlinks a page needs to receive in order to be considered “good” or “better” than every other site on the net. This is something that only a qualified SEO expert can tell you. I tend to stick with what works, and this means having just over one to two thousand links for each page. Anything over this and you have a problem.

There are those who believe that if you have a ton of backlinks, then you are probably getting a lot of “referrals”, but this is not necessarily true. Backlinks are only part of the equation, the real SEO power of a site is in its search engine optimization. Just like with page rank, there is no exact science to determining how many keywords or phrases will produce the best results. In fact, some studies have shown that your best chance for ranking high in the major search engines will come from having many more keywords in your meta-tags and title tags than your competitors.

For example, let’s say you were trying to rank for the keyword “appliance repair”. All of your backlinks are pointing to websites with keyword definitions of “appliance repair”, “repair”, etc. This is the equivalent of having ten or twenty keywords in your meta-tags. This is a lot of keywords, and it is definitely going to have an impact on your search engine optimization.

However, there is another important aspect of how do you measure SEO success that we need to discuss. Your site’s content. If you don’t have content that is well-optimized, then your site is doomed to fail. Most people think that backlinks are all that matter when it comes to SEO, but the reality is that keyword optimized content is what drives visitors to your site in the first place.

There are two ways to improve your site’s SEO performance. One is to optimize your site for the search engines, and the other is to drive natural traffic to your site. The problem with building a site for the search engines is that it takes years of research and coding to make sure that your site is optimized properly, and even then it may not be enough.

Natural traffic is what brings in the money. Visitors to your site don’t want to hear about how do you measure to success, they want to know that they can get something out of your site. If your site is not optimized for the search engines, visitors will simply move on to the next site on their list. However, if your site is optimized, visitors will have a better experience and come back often.
